Jason is a young man who in many ways was living out his dreams. After working hard for his carpentry apprenticeship he had earned his stripes as a full “chippie” and had headed off to Canada for some snowboarding – one of his greatest passions.
In March 2016, Jason was involved in a snowboarding accident. He suffered a serious spinal cord injury on his C4 vertebrae and became a quadriplegic.
This was devastating news for this adventurous and physically active 20 year old who loved surfing, rugby league and snowboarding. While the news hit him hard, Jason has faced his new life challenges with real grit. Each day sees him honing his wheelchair skills and developing his dexterity as he works towards heading home from hospital.
