“I’m so very grateful”
Jeffrey woke up unable to breathe one night. Fearing he was having a heart attack, he rushed himself to the Emergency Department at the Prince of Wales Hospital.
Over the next 39 hours, doctors performed numerous tests. After hours of observation, test results concluded Jeffrey had suffered an allergic reaction to the MSG in the food he had eaten earlier that evening, and with his symptoms treated, he was sent home well.
After Jeffery’s discharge, doctors continued to review his case, and when results from an x-ray taken on his initial visit showed up some abnormalities, Jeffrey was asked to return for further tests. A CT scan detected a large mass on his right-hand side and across his sternum. It was later confirmed that this mass was in fact stage 3 cancer.
Thanks to the dedication of the staff at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Jeffery’s initial misfortunate led clinicians to diagnosing this life-threatening illness. This expert diagnosis meant a treatment plan for this previously undiagnosed condition could be put in place.
Although he is still undergoing treatment he cannot thank and praise those involved with his exceptional care enough
“I’ve never been treated so well. Ever. My whole experience has been amazing! The care, the people, the facility… if anyone asks me, the nursing staff are the most caring and empathetic people you will ever meet, and I can’t help but show my appreciation for those that looked after me so well!”
said Jeffrey.
